The big news today is that we saw a rock! It is the first rock we have seen since before Fargo. It was about the size of half a cantaloupe. That might not sound very exciting to you, but it means we might have a place to get out of the canoe at some future date. The other big news is that it is so so so hot. All our drinking water is as hot as tea. The canoe burns your hand if you accidentally touch it. For the first time I am starting to have doubts about our ability to do this thing we have started. We are about 50 river miles south of Grand Forks, near the town of Nielsville MN.
Oh, that sounds miserable, Anne! I feel for the three of you. Hope you can hang in there. Thinking of you.
