We got to Wahpeton in good time this morning and even found showers in the zoo restrooms. There was a very sad rhinoceros, a couple zebras, and a peacock at the zoo. Shortly thereafter, at the Kidder Dam, we cheated death by a hairsbreadth. The portage was obscured by high water and the water flow was gigantic. But we escaped and are now at the Brushvale Bridge primitive campground. Every bridge we go under, the startled cliff swallows attack us on the other side. Sorry, I am unable to post pictures because of a lack of connectivity.
Will you be hitting high water on the Red River?

The Red is having historic flooding all the way to Lake Winnipeg. We can see the high water line as we go, more than a yard above where the water is now.
