Fram, Fram!

How much energy would it take to paddle a canoe across the continent? How many days would it take to get from the Gulf of Mexico to Hudson Bay? How many paddle strokes? How many granola bars? These are questions that I never asked. Why? Because a cross-continental trip was never in the plans. It just sort of evolved. Now it is more than half over, mile-wise. This summer, after a hiatus of five long years, the original two Debs and I will bite off another huge chunk – from southern Minnesota to Lake Winnipeg on the Red River of the North. Please join us, not in the canoes, but online! This blog will keep you up to date.

The already-completed part of our trip,
from Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico
